Legal Project Senior Analyst

Role description

Our Enabling Functions span HR, Legal, IT and beyond. In every role you’ll play a major part in driving the growth of our business by bringing your expertise, strategic vision, commercial focus and operational excellence. 

Role accountabilities 
The main responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:


•    ‘Training’ the NLP AI tool by efficiently and accurately labelling data sets in Microsoft Azure;
•    Reporting the trend of labelled risk types, identifying risk types that require more data sets to be fed in the NLP AI tool and raising issues observed to GSSC Legal team or Data Scientist; 
•    Liaising with the project Data Scientist to provide status update on data labelling and to proactively confirm if there is a need to load for more data sets in the NLP AI tool; 
•    Assisting the Data Scientist and GSSC Legal team with ad hoc tasks relating to NLP AI tool development (non-programming/non-coding aspect) that may be requested from time to time;
•    Applying Arcadis risk standards to potential contracts or updates to existing contracts to identify risk issues, categorize their impact, propose alternative language aligned with Arcadis’ desired risk profile, and perform minor contract revisions/drafting or negotiation (with oversight from an Arcadis Legal Counsel, as needed); 
•    Providing sound and insightful advice on a variety of matters such as contract review and administration to relevant personnel on same;
•    Performing legal and factual research under the guidance and direction of Arcadis Legal Counsels;
•    Supporting the GSSC Legal team in initiatives requiring streamlining and automation of processes; 
•    Performing other duties and responsibilities as required from time to time by the GSSC Lead Legal Counsel or the Global Legal Operations Director.
 

Qualifications & Experience

•    Solid business knowledge with tertiary qualifications in a law or legally related discipline, with a preference for contract law.
•    Background or familiarity in basic AI concepts, and exposure to development of an AI application or use of machine learning/AI applications software is a plus. 
•    At least one (1) year demonstrated experience as a Contracts Analyst or similar role, including transactional based legal reviews, risk analysis, contract drafting; ideally with broad based industry experience (international exposure an advantage).
•    Contract and performance/risk management experience in all general aspects of environmental consulting or civil engineering; construction industry also valued and an advantage.
•    Ability to support collaboration and operate effectively in a team environment.
•    Post graduate qualifications an advantage.
•    Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
•    Exceptional organizational and time management skills.
•    Strong interpersonal skills.
•    Ability to effectively handle sensitive and confidential information
•    Must be able to work independently, managing time and deadlines without extensive supervision. Must be able to demonstrate the ability to manage multiple tasks, consistently meeting deadlines in a fast-paced business environment, managing a consistent high-volume of work. 
•    Technical skills such as but not limited to ability to work with databases, software (especially Microsoft Azure, PowerApps, PowerBI and PowerAutomate) and other tools
•    Client-focused, entrepreneurial, proactive, pragmatic and highly adept at problem-solving.
•    Motivated to learn things he/she is not familiar with, and adaptable to take that learning experience into good use. 
•    Has an eye for both company interests and legal principles, combined with high standard of integrity.
•    Attention to detail;
•    Critical thinking skills and the ability to analyze complex information
•    Has global and international mindset; and
•    Excellent command of the English language (spoken and written).
