Description Robert Half is recruiting two experienced Litigation Legal Secretaries for the Oakland offices (hybrid telecommute) for its regional law firm client. + Draft, format, proofread, and file legal documents, such as pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and correspondence, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules. + Coordinate and submit filings using e-filing systems for state and federal courts and assist with maintaining eDiscovery materials. + Schedule hearings, depositions, and meetings; monitor deadlines for case-related events; and provide reminders to legal teams. + Assist in communicating with clients, witnesses, and opposing counsel regarding case updates and logistics. + Maintain case files, organize records, manage attorney billing, and order office supplies to ensure smooth operations for litigation teams. Requirements Position Details: The qualifications for the position are the following: • 3+ years of experience as a legal secretary supporting busy litigators; • Experience assisting public entity clientele (ideally in eminent domain proceedings) is a plus, but not required; • Preparation of varied pleadings including discovery, law and motion matters, writs, appellate pleadings and briefs; • Significant filing in state and federal courts at both the trial (Superior Courts for state cases and District Courts for federal cases) and the appellate levels; and • Command of federal and state rules of court and local court rules and procedures.
