Description A well-regarded law firm in Walnut Creek, CA, is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Legal Secretary to provide comprehensive support to a transactional partner handling complex, large-scale cases with multiple parties. This contract to hire role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in document management, word processing, and transactional legal support who thrives in a fast-paced environment and can manage redlining, formatting, and version control with minimal guidance. Key Responsibilities: + Perform advanced word-processing tasks, including track changes, redlining, and document troubleshooting in Microsoft Word. + Convert documents between PDF and Word formats and apply complex formatting. + Manage and organize legal documents, including reviewing, editing, and finalizing drafts with multiple parties involved. + Provide administrative support, including calendar management, meeting coordination, and correspondence. + Handle multiple projects and deadlines efficiently, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail. + Coordinate with attorneys and staff to ensure timely completion of tasks. + Assist with other legal secretary duties as assigned. Requirements Qualifications: + Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Legal Secretary, preferably in transactional law or a related field. + Expert-level proficiency in Microsoft Word, including track changes, formatting, and troubleshooting. + Strong understanding of document conversion from PDF to Word and applying formatting. + Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple parties and deadlines. + Previous experience supporting a transactional partner or similar role is highly desirable. + Strong communication and interpersonal skills to handle high-volume correspondence and collaboration. + Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and provide proactive support. + Background in litigation with strong word-processing skills may be considered. + Full-time, on-site position requiring 5 days a week in Walnut Creek, CA.
