Legal Support Coordinator - Immigration
**LOCATION:** New York City NY (Hybrid – 8 days per month in the office in South Manhattan) **OVERVIEW** Your role in the Wolters Kluwer Global Law and Compliance Department supports the Immigration legal function and Human Resources department in North America with the execution of immigration documentation, processes, communications, and filings to enable qualified foreign nationals to be employed by Wolters Kluwer in North America, as well as other GLCD projects. Your role involves (a) implementing and executing immigration legal processes and procedures, (b) supporting the filing, tracking, and reporting of VISA and Green Card applications and immigration, (c) assisting with immigration matter management and communications, and (d) other tasks and special projects. You will manage moderately complex projects and efficiently organize and deliver on various projects tasks. **RESPONSIBILITIES** + Support in-house immigration team to manage, prepare, and respond to a high volume of immigration filings and communications. + Manage electronic tools and databases to assist in the efficient functioning of the immigration legal process. + Manage communications with foreign nationals, various stakeholders in HR, recruiting and others as well as with the internal employment legal team, external counsel, and legal operations. + Prepare and file employment-based visa petitions and permanent residency applications. + Draft supporting documents for review + Assist with responses to Requests for Evidence from USCIS + Assist with case intake and review immigration documentation. + Communicate with foreign nationals and provide responses to inquiries. + Evaluate cases and escalate issues to legal team. + Distribute reports and action items to the team/stakeholders as appropriate; compose and send independent responses to emails, when appropriate; field incoming correspondence; complete deliverables in a timely and quality way. + Complete regular administrative functions to include: + Preparing, printing, assembling, and mailing petitions, case packets, and other filings. + Cutting checks and tracking expenses, + Scanning notices/mail from USCIS and storing physical notices. + Mailing receipt and approval notices to foreign national employees. + Storing/organizing employee documents as needed (such as supporting documents for green card cases). + Process and approving vendor invoices, submit invoices to accounting. + Maintain electronic and paper filing system structure for easy access, storage, retention and housekeeping. + Remain up to date on and maintain knowledge base of immigration laws, policies, and regulations and communicate updates to in-house counsel. + Assist with preparation of e-mails and “alert” memos on legislative, policy and practice updates for review and sign-off by in-house counsel. + Conduct legal research to identify solutions for complex immigration matters and effectively communicate solutions to foreign nationals and various stakeholders. + Facilitate reporting and statistical analyses on Wolters Kluwer’s immigration program. **QUALIFICATIONS** **Education:** Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience, or paralegal certificate from an accredited college or university **Experience:** + Experience in legal operations for a law firm or in-house legal department. + Understanding of legal technology, process management, and knowledge management, preferably in a corporate or law firm environment. + Knowledge of the legal industry, processes, and functions; preferably within an Immigration function. + Experience with H and L nonimmigrant visas and employment based permanent residency processes preferred. + Knowledge of immigration law and regulations in North America preferred. **TRAVEL:** < 5% for team meeting \#LI-Hybrid **Compensation:** Target salary range CA, CT, CO, DC, HI, IL, MD, MN, NY, RI, WA: $75,750 - $104,650 EQUAL EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY Wolters Kluwer U.
