As part of the nation's number one public research institution, Michigan Engineering's mission is to provide scientific and technological leadership to the people of the world, develop intellectually curious and socially conscious minds, create collaborative solutions to societal problems, and promote an inclusive and innovative community of service for the common good. **Responsibilities*** The Department of Mechanical Engineering seeks a Lecturer to teach AUTO 503; MFG 503; ISD 503; ME 450 Duties include assisting with preparing and delivering lectures (length of lectures depends on credits for the class), preparing and grading homework, projects, and exams (as appropriate). Hours: 12 hours per week in February 2025 for training. 40 hours per week from March - July 15, 2025. NOTE: This position is only for the period of February - mid-July 2025. This is an open position. **Required Qualifications*** A Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or related field, and previous teaching experience at the university level are strongly preferred. **Union Affiliation** This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment. **Background Screening** The University of Michigan conducts background checks on all job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background checks.
