The role: LGW Performance Improvement & Partnerships Manager

FIXED TERM CONTRACT (18 Months)

This role will sit in the Worldwide Airports team; a global team responsible for all mainline Airports Operations (outside of LHR), as part of the Operations Directorate. The MEAAP & LGW team comprises of 30 airports with 200 colleagues from London Gatwick to Sydney. We pride ourselves on our culture of empowerment, diversity and fun!

A dynamic and exciting role, you will be accountable for driving improvement to the British Airways’ mainline operation and customer experience at our London Gatwick hub. You will create and implement a strategic vision for LGW mainline to deliver exceptional safety, operational and customer performance

You’ll play a critical role in the leadership team, ensuring safety, operational performance and cost measures are met and developing joint innovative ways to further optimise cost and performance

You will have a firm eye on the future, understanding how trends and developments will influence and evolve the travel experience. You will be an expert in airport operations, and grow with making things better for our customers and our colleagues.

Please note, this role is not approved for an international assignment.

What you’ll do:

Accountable for driving improvement to LGW mainline performance ensuring the highest standards of safety, security and compliance are maintained; including adherence to all applicable regulatory structures and processes, all of which contribute to BA’s safety management system.Develop the operational strategy for LGW mainline and working with the BA LGW Airport Manager (APM) and Head of Operations BA Euroflyer to implement.Establish and maintain appropriate governance of LGW mainline operational, safety, customer experience and financial performanceUses analytical and visualisation tools to derive data insight and support decision makingDrive synergies where appropriate between mainline operation and Euroflyer team, ensuring WWA initiatives are tactically translated into local deliveryEnsure our suppliers deliver to the expectations of the business, and follow up on performance as necessary, pursuing rectification measures where requiredIdentifies and implements improvements to the LGW mainline customer journey and operational performanceLeads operational readiness prior to each season and works with network planning to ensure a manageable operation for future seasonal planningDevelops the LGW Mainline BP with Finance, identifying and delivering any initiatives throughout the life cycle of the BP. Responsible for ensuring the BP is updated on a regular basis.

Comprehensive understanding of airport operations interfaces and how to deliver performance metrics across complex operations, both above and below wing.Extensive airport operations experience and commercially astuteStrong change leadership skillsExperience of leading sophisticated and diverse programmes of workAble to forecast and predict future challenges to embed a non-reactive, delivery led culture.Strong cross team working & collaboration skills, able to build and develop excellent cross-departmental relationships.Excellent interpersonal, influencing skills in a range of different scenarios.
