Liability and Compliance Manager

Freese and Nichols is seeking a Liability & Compliance Manager in Fort Worth. As a Liability & Compliance Manager you will provide expert legal services and guidance on professional liability, compliance, and legal programs with significant organizational impact. Handle complex legal matters, conduct in-depth analysis, and deliver immediate, informed decisions based on extensive knowledge. Lead major litigation and special assignments critical to operations and profitability.

Design, develop, and deliver the organization's legal strategy, ensuring compliance and accountability; advise on legal issues such as construction, contracts, procurement, and compliance.Provide authoritative legal advice to leadership to guide liability risk strategies, claims management, contract negotiation, and compliance.Build strategic relationships with organizational leaders, fostering trust and providing high-quality legal guidance to achieve goals. Make difficult decisions, lead change, enforce policies, and hold staff accountable while ensuring team alignment and engagement.Model adherence to and alignment with key company policies.Set and implement litigation and claims management strategies; oversee claims tracking, facilitate resolutions, and coordinate with liability insurers.Facilitate the Project Risk Management Committee’s meetings, ensure achievement of goals, and periodically update objectives with senior leaders.Establish procedures for compliance with state and territorial business requirements in coordination with the CFO and Accounting Department.Lead procurement of professional liability insurance coverage and implement professional liability risk mitigation strategies.Serve as a subject matter expert in litigation, compliance, and regulations; stay current on trends and train team members.Review and prepare complex legal documents using advanced technologies; establish standards for legal documentation.

Qualifications

Required:

Doctor of Jurisprudence Required 10+ years of experience in a legal setting advising clients and handling litigation 3+ years of experience of management experience overseeing junior colleagues or litigation support teams

Preferred:

Board Certification in Construction Law and familiarity with the Texas Engineering Practice Act preferred
