LibertyWorks Supplier Engineered Equipment Design Specialist

We’re looking for a LibertyWorks Supplier Engineered Equipment (SEE) Design specialist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship RR programs and play an important role in addressing some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in Defense.
As the LibertyWorks SEE Design specialist, you will be recognized as an authoritative source of technical and functional expertise within the program and the business. You will be the technical subject matter expert responsible for the technical relationships with key suppliers and will be responsible for overseeing development of component specific requirements, selecting capable suppliers, and providing technical guidance throughout the design phase of the control system.

Key Accountabilities
Demonstrate strong leadership and communication skills that can influence suppliers and customersWork confidently with complex issues and ambiguous situations and drive to a concurred solutionResponsible for providing direction and development of design engineersBe the focal point for regular technical communications with internal and external customers, as well as design-make suppliers and other project stakeholdersProvide technical oversight and direction for the project work undertaken by their team; ensuring they meet cost, schedule, quality, safety, and delivery commitments.Responsible for the development of components, including architecture, product & qualifications requirements, and supplier selection. Includes oversight of the mechanical design, analysis, design reviews, FMEA, and verification & validation testing performed by contracted suppliers of the SEE parts.Drive coordination of effort between the design, purchasing, manufacturing engineering, and suppliers to ensure the design needs are met through the execution of the work package to plan.Engage in technical, manufacturing and supply chain issues and opportunities to enable quick decision making.Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 5+ years of experience in Control Systems OR:Master's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering with 3+ years of experience in Control Systems OR;JD/PhD in Mechanical or Aerospace EngineeringTo be considered for this role, you must be a US CitizenPreferred Qualifications:
Strong technical leadership, people management and project management skillsExperience with control systems hardware designExperience with externals designExperience with SEE engineering process executionExperience with New Product Introduction (NPI), change management, and risk management processesExperience with project work scope estimation using validated methods, basis-of-estimate justification, and proposal writingExperience with reporting progress using earned value managementExperience with Root Cause Analysis and other problem-solving techniquesKnowledge of RTCA/DO-160 and MIL-STD-810 environmental testing standardsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsPioneer the next generation of innovation. Hybrid working is a way in which our people can balance their time between the office, home, or another remote location. It’s a locally managed and flexed informal discretionary arrangement.
