We’re looking for a Stress Engineering Specialist to join our growing team. This is an exciting opportunity to work on flagship RR programs and play an important role in addressing some of the most complex and interesting technological challenges in Defense. 

The Stress Engineering Specialist support the Design function by completing stress and dynamics analysis of proposed designs to ensure that they are robust and that they meet requirements. In this role, you will make recommendations to optimize the design and applies Robust Engineering (Design for Process Excellence) principles.

Key Accountabilities:  

Perform analytical assessments (stress, dynamics and/or lifing) to support new design conceptsCollaborate across technical disciplines to assess structural acceptance, and provide results, and issue appropriate technical reportsCommunicate technical and business results via reports and presentations to internal leadership and customersSupport non-conforming hardware dispositions (MRB) on development and prototype hardware.Be accountable for the technical quality of the work package deliverables and take an active role in continual improvement of our engineering methods and processes

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or Engineering Mechanics required at a minimum. Graduating between August 2024 and August 2025Minimum GPA: 3.0  To be considered for this role, you must be a U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a high-level security clearance

Preferred Requirements:

Familiarity with building and running stress, lifing, or dynamic simulationFamiliarity with FEA codes such as ANSYS, SC03 and AU3DProgramming skills such as Visual Basic, Matlab, Python, PERL, C++Analytical ability to deal with challenging engineering problems and to determine root cause and corrective actionInterpersonal skills to work effectively in a team environment; willingness to accept responsibility and take initiativeAbility to plan and coordinate assigned work with other groups and drive to finish assigned tasks on schedule
