Our client, The University of San Francisco (USF) is looking to fill a Library Assistant position.

The University of San Francisco is currently seeking a highly motivated, supportive, and detailed-oriented Library Assistant to assist with the Access Services department at the Gleeson Library. This position will be onsite.

Responsibilities:

Provide high-level service to the University of San Francisco community and guests.Open and close the library as directed by administration.Assist with shelving, shelf-reading, material retrieval/return, and stack shifts, including remote storage facilities.Supervise student workers and collaborate with Access Services staff on workflow coordination.Create and maintain documentation of workflows, procedures, and policies with team members.Support and deliver specialized staff and student training for stacks and public service desk functions.Process interlibrary lending (ILL) requests using various systems and assist with ILL-related patron inquiries.Design and implement programs to increase ILL usage and awareness, and evaluate workflows.Prepare statistics for departmental reports and participate in staff development and workshops.Engage in library cross-training, professional development, and participate in library outreach, events, and committee work.

Qualifications:

Four years of higher education or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred three years of library experience with knowledge of basic access services/circulation routines in an automated Innovative Interfaces Sierra environment.Preferred experience using Library of Congress Subject Headings, Classification Schedules, OCLC Connexion, and library Discovery platforms. Proficient in Microsoft Office. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Self-motivated with initiative and flexibility to respond to changing needs and priorities.

Pay Rate: $31.26
