Library Coordinator, Digital Services (aHEO) - Center for Puerto Rican Studies (CENTRO) **POSITION DETAILS** The Library Coordinator (Digital Services) will support the Centro Archives digital preservation programs. They will conduct inventories of Centro collections to help identify analog and digital audiovisual holdings, process and implement digital preservation workflows on born-digital and analog collections and contribute to the overall preservation and access initiatives of the CENTRO, including promoting the preservation of audiovisual and other types of digital material produced by various CENTRO Units. In addition to CUNY Title Overview, duties include but are not limited to the following: - Assist with processing mixed-media collections, including analog and born-digital materials. - Support the identification of materials for audiovisual digitization. - Conduct digital preservation tasks on born-digital media including audiovisual material, oral histories, digital documents, still images, and datasets. - Add item-level metadata to digital objects for access and discovery in CENTRO’s content management system, under direction. - Work collaboratively with CENTRO staff to promote digital holdings and support outreach initiatives. - Provide excellent service to users seeking access to collections and assist with library operations as needed. **QUALIFICATIONS** Bachelor's Degree required. **Preferred Qualifications:** - Degree in information science with a focus on archives or in a related field. - Demonstrated experience arranging and describing analog and born-digital archival material, including audiovisual materials - Digital audio editing experience - Experience using archival content management and digital curation systems and technologies applicable to archives. - Experience with applying metadata standards and schema for descriptive, structural, and preservation metadata such as DACS, EAD, MARC, and PREMIS. - Advanced training in audiovisual archives - Audio editing experience required - Database management training - Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate and work effectively within and across organizational and unit boundaries in a diverse organization and with a wide variety of users. - Bilingual - Fluency in English and Spanish required. Interest in the history of Puerto Rican populations and communities in the US. **CUNY TITLE OVERVIEW** Assists with Library operations and provides excellent service to Library users. - Coordinates with faculty, students, and librarians to ensure needed materials are accessible on a timely basis - Provides general information in the use of library resources and services - Keeps records of library transactions and generates reports on usage - Exercises sound judgment in enforcing library policies and procedures - May perform and/or supervise daily operations of a service unit such as the Reserve Desk - May assist with digital resource management, acquisitions, and updating Library web pages - Performs related duties as assigned. **CUNY TITLE** Assistant to HEO **FLSA** Non-exempt **COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS** Salary commensurate with education and experience, with approved range $44,411 -$68,245. **_Note_** _: CUNY is in the process of implementing salary schedule increases.
