Responsibilities Provide individual, family or group psychotherapy services to children and their families, some of whom will be Spanish speaking.Conduct evaluations, including diagnostic assessments to determine appropriate treatment modality.Collaborate with the referring agency, to assist them in utilizing the evaluation/treatment services in the development of the service plan for the child and the family.Collaborate with the school system to assure that the children are receiving appropriate educational services, if indicated.Participate in peer consultation groups and/or individual supervision for the purpose of review of clinical work.Attend in-service clinical training programs, treatment planning meeting, and necessary administrative meetings.Maintain client activity at the projected level set by the administrative staff.Maintain the medical record for each client seen which includes a treatment plan and diagnostic interview at the initiation of therapy, weekly progress notes, periodic reviews, and termination summary.May participate in the field instruction program and supervise counseling trainees when interest and capacity are demonstrated and may participate in specialized clinics focused on particular conditions or treatments. Qualifications Must be licensed by the Maryland Board of Professional Counselors and Therapists at the Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) level.Must possess and maintain cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification.EDUCATION:
Must have either A Master’s degree in professional counseling or related field with a minimum of 60 graduate semester credit hours or 90 graduate quarter credit hours ORA Doctoral degree with a minimum of 90 graduate semester credit hours or 135 graduate credit hours.EXPERIENCE:
Minimum two years of licensed clinical experience related to providing services to children in the child welfare population with developmental and emotional disturbance required.
