Job Brief

This position is responsible for all electrical troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and electrical installations throughout the Simsbury Manufacturing plant.

Schedule is Monday - Friday 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM with expected overtime

Pay range is $35.17 - $37.02 an hour DOE

*Position is located in Simsbury, CT*

What You’ll Do

As the Electrician, you are responsible for all electrical troubleshooting, repairs, maintenance, preventive maintenance, and electrical installations throughout the Simsbury Manufacturing plant. Other duties will include:

Demonstrate and/or lead the commitment to the pursuit of achieving Zero Harm through behavioral based safety Ensure compliance with applicable HSE performance standards, objectives and regulations Live and foster the IPL Corporate Values Align with the Business Excellence, identify and implement framework and strategy to reduce waste and improve quality, productivity and safety performance within the assigned departments. Inspect electrical systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes. Test electrical systems and continuity of circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, using testing devices such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, and oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of system. Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, and components, using test equipment and hand tools, to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem. Assemble, install, test, and maintain electrical or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, and fixtures, using hand tools and power tools. Complete electrical work related to machine installation; repair and overhaul including facilities power distribution, installation and maintenance. Perform preventive and reactive maintenance within the Simsbury and Westover Plants Troubleshoot, identify and repair worn and failed electrical components, switches, fuses, etc. Read and interpret complicated electrical drawings including three dimensional views; to set up new equipment and maintain current equipment.  Perform preventive maintenance in all categories of Electrical to keep all production lines running efficiently and maintain a safe work environment. Must respond to an on-call pager once every 3 - 4 weeks to cover a 24/7 manufacturing schedule

 

What We’re Looking For:

Must have either an E1 or E2 license. 4+ years of experience in a manufacturing / commercial environment repairing and maintaining electrical systems 4+ of technical school (Journeyman) preferred. Must have electrical knowledge and electrical practices and methods to identify and communicate problems with suggestions to implement alternative methods. Ability to obtain a Possessor’s Certificate through BATFE Ability to understand the machine process and determine root cause of machine malfunction Ability to wear PPE including Arc Flash Gear to comply with NFPA 70E Positive attitude, friendly demeanor, and a team player
