SUMMARY: We are looking for a Foster Care Supervisor to join our multi-disciplinary treatment team that provides services designed to maximize the potential of each foster child in his/her developmental level. Reporting to the Director of Foster Care, you will provide administrative and clinical supervision to the Foster Care program and staff, including, but not limited to, recruitment, orientation, and on-going supervision and evaluation of case managers and appropriate support staff. You will also be required to carry an individual caseload as necessary.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
+ Oversee the professional growth of those people whom he/she supervises, including hiring, evaluating, promoting, discharging staff.
+ Contribute to program development by conceptualizing and assessing all elements of current and new programs. This encompasses areas such as staffing patterns, budget implications, and evaluation process, marketing, etc.
+ Supervise and assure the maintenance of adequate and timely client records, reports and billing.
+ Assure that standards/regulations set by accrediting and/or licensing bodies are maintained by Foster Care staff.
+ Conduct or coordinate staff training that will provide the skills necessary to implement the program.
+ In cooperation with the Director of Foster Care and appropriate fiscal staff, develop, administrate and be responsible for the program budget.
+ Represent the Agency in the development or maintenance of relationship with other organizations including sister agencies, public agencies, managed care companies, insurance companies, funders and referral sources.
+ Assure that program staff participates in agency research projects to evaluate the program’s effectiveness.
+ Assure that program staff maintains high standards of ethical and professional conduct.
+ Carry a caseload as necessary providing Provides Psychiatric Diagnostic Evaluation (PDE), Psychotherapy, and Therapeutic Behavioral Services (TBS).
+ Provide adequate and appropriate supervision for all clients, including, but not limited to, monitoring and observing all placement foster homes at least twice a month.
+ Recognize the significance of the primary family in the client’s life and demonstrates the skills to engage the client, primary family, and other supportive adults in the treatment planning process.
+ Assess foster parent’s skills and abilities, provides feedback, and evaluates foster parent’s performance and ability to meet the individual treatment needs of the youth.
+ Provide primary parent guidance and permanency planning, promotes a working relationship between the primary family and the foster family, supervises family visits, and provides advocacy as needed and/or indicated.
+ Participate in the re-certification of foster homes, assists with annual and bi-annual audits, and maintains current, thorough knowledge of state and county rules and regulations regarding foster care.
+ Complete all documentation in a thorough and timely manner and meets productivity requirements as established by the department.
+ Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
OTHER DUTIES:
+ Provide liaison and appropriate staffing for committees as assigned by the Director of Foster Care.
+ Attend scheduled staff meetings, supervision, and on-going training.
+ All required trainings, certifications and licensure must be kept current in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards.
+ Contribute to the development and maintenance of the clinical record through the timely completion of assigned documentation in accordance with applicable licensing and accreditation regulations and standards, either directly or through delegation of responsibility to appropriate foster care staff members.
+ Respect the privacy of clients and hold in confidence all information obtained during the client’s treatment. All client-related documents should be handled in accordance with Agency guidelines on confidential material.
+ Maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct and adhere to Agency policies and procedures.
+ Other duties as assigned by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
+ Education: Minimum Master’s Degree in Social Work or related field required.
+ Licensure: Valid Ohio LISW or LPCC required; Certified Assessor preferred.
+ Skills/Competencies:
+ Strong clinical skills including expertise school based counseling, crisis intervention, family education, behavioral interventions.
+ Ability to perform job responsibilities with a high degree of initiative and independent judgment.
+ Practice-Based Learning & Quality Improvement: Demonstrates the ability to assess and continually improve the services delivered as an individual provider and as an professional team.
+ Screening & Assessment: Demonstrates the ability to conduct brief, evidence-based and developmentally appropriate screening and to conduct or arrange for more detailed assessments when indicated.
+ Care Planning & Coordination: Demonstrates the ability to create and implement integrated care plans, ensuring access to an array of linked services, and the exchange of information among clients, family members, and providers.
+ Core Expertise: Possesses skill, knowledge and abilities to perform the essential duties of their role; keeps knowledge up to date.
+ Cultural Competency: Demonstrates awareness, sensitivity and skills in working professionally with diverse individuals, groups and communities who represent various cultural and personal background and characteristics.
+ Interpersonal Communication: Communicates clearly using verbal, nonverbal, and written skills in a professional context; demonstrates clear understanding and use of professional language.
+ Professional & Ethical Conduct: Adheres to professional values such as honesty, personal responsibility, and accountability; applies ethical concepts within scope of work and adheres to Agency policies and procedures.
+ Collaboration & Teamwork: Functions effectively as a member of a professional team that includes employees, clients and family members.
+ Problem-Solving & Decision-Making: Recognizes problems and responds appropriately; gathers information and sorts through it to identify and address root cause issues; makes timely decisions.
+ Experience: Experience and expertise in Foster Care and Adoption services. Proven experience in public relations, community development and both clinical and administrative supervision. Experience working with children, adolescents and their families. Ideal candidate has supervisory experience.
+ Salary will be approximately $62,000 annually
