The Licensed Home Child Care Consultant is responsible for providing direct support, mentoring and recruiting high-quality home child care as third-party contractors. The position provides oversight to ensure all licensed home child care programs provide quality care, service and support to their families. Through home visits, training, and general oversight, they will support Providers in the development of enriching child care programming. They will help them locate useful resources and provide advice around child guidance techniques and child development while ensuring compliance with provincial and YMCA requirements.
In this role, you will:
Oversee and monitor home child care programs delivered at multiple locations Provide support and guidance to the licensed home providers, ensuring overall compliance in regards to the Ministry of Education, third party governing agencies and YMCA policies and procedures Conduct home visits to evaluate and monitor the provisions of home child care consistent with YMCA of Greater Toronto policies and procedures and the Child Care Early Years Act. Provide guidance and support on programming and child guidance techniques Work collaboratively with Finance and the Manager Licensed Home Child Care to ensure accurate billing, payroll and subsidy reporting and budgeting Identify and assist in the selection of home child care providers through home assessments that evaluate suitability for provision of child care according to agency criteria, the Child Care Early Years Act, and other relevant legislation Arrange orientation and training sessions, provide information regarding requirements, resources and back-up provisions Create, maintain and monitor files for each home child care premises in accordance to Ministry and YMCA requirements Support providers in filling vacancies consistent with the terms set in their service agreement Maintain accurate records and complete visits reports, assist Home providers in implementing all requirements in their homes, including completing reports Develop and sustain good working relationships with families, community agencies and home providers; give leadership and guidance to home providers to implement and adheres to Parent Communication Standards; respond to inquiries from families, including voicemails Perform other duties as assignedYou bring:
Early Childhood Educator Diploma or degree Must be registered and a member in good standing in the College of Early Childhood Educators (CECE) Minimum two (2) years of supervisory experience working with children and families in a licensed child care setting Valid First Aid and CPR-C Up to date immunizations Valid driver’s license and capacity to travel on your own to conduct monthly visits A capacity to work within a multiple level reporting structure; demonstrates professionalism in working with home providers, families and third-party agencies Strong organizational skills and ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities Well-developed interpersonal, and relationship building skills; ability to establish rapport and excellent communication with home providers, families and third-party agencies Excellent written communication skills Excellent understanding of diversity, inclusion and equity including the ability to identify and address barriers in home child care, work effectively with diverse stakeholders, and integrate equity into program designWhat you need to succeed:
