Can-Tech Services is looking for a Licensed Millwright for one of our reputable Manufacturing clients in Oshawa.

Position: Licensed Millwright.
Position Type: Permanent/Full-Time.
Shifts Available: Afternoons (2.30pm to 10.30pm) or Midnights (10.30pm to 6.30am).
Pay: $40.83/hr. Will increase to $41.85/hr as of Feb 28th 2025.

Millwright – Loading Docks, Dock Restraints, Rapid Roll Doors, Penthouses, and Pumps
Position Summary:
The Millwright is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of mechanical systems and equipment associated with loading docks, dock restraints, rapid roll doors, penthouse systems, and various pumps. This role ensures operational efficiency, safety compliance, and minimized downtime in a fast-paced facility environment.
Responsibilities:
Preventive and Predictive Maintenance:
Develop and execute preventive maintenance (PM) schedules for loading docks, dock restraints, rapid roll doors, penthouses, and pumps.
Inspect equipment for wear, misalignment, or potential failure points and perform adjustments or replacements.
Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and generate reports for management review.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues in equipment and systems.
Repair or replace damaged components, including motors, belts, bearings, seals, and springs.
Collaborate with other trades (electricians, HVAC technicians) to resolve cross-disciplinary issues.
Installation and Upgrades:
Install new mechanical systems or upgrade existing ones, ensuring alignment with safety and operational standards.
Align, fit, and assemble machinery components using hoists, tools, and measuring instruments.
Operational Support:
Respond promptly to breakdowns, minimizing equipment downtime.
Provide technical guidance to operators and other team members on proper equipment usage.
Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to facility safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures, confined space entry, and hazard identification.
Conduct routine inspections to ensure compliance with relevant codes and regulations.
Participate in safety training programs and maintain certifications as required.
