Job Brief

Provides comprehensive nursing care, programming services, activities of daily living and administers medications to people attending the Day Programs under the supervision of Registered Nurse.

Shift Worked: 8:00 AM-1:00 PM (Monday-Friday) Weekly Hours: 25 FLSA Status: Non Exempt Pay range: $33-$36

A. POSITION SUMMARY:

Provides comprehensive nursing care, programming services, activities of daily living and administers medications to people attending the Day Programs under the supervision of Registered Nurse.

B. POSITION DUTIES:

1. Works under the direction of the Registered nurse in providing nursing care, including medication requisition, administration and record keeping. Closely monitors the people attending the Day Program condition and responds to changes.

2. Communicates with staff in regard to all issues and concerns presented to them.

3. Participates with interdisciplinary team in evaluating the skills and writing the goals for people attending the Day Program. Actively implements designed programs by following prescribed methodology.

4. Maintains records and charts for the people attending the Day Program by entering required information (goal progress, temperatures, changes in behavior, etc.).

5. Completes and responds to all requests for information, including incident review, employee-related grievances, etc.

6. Maintains cleanliness and safety of environment.

7. Shares with R.N. responsibility for the wellbeing of all the people attending the Day Program, including using special equipment, responding to changes of the condition of the people attending the Day Program, participating in evacuation drills, etc.

8. Attends screening and semi-annual meetings, special team meetings as needed.

9. Performs all other duties as assigned.

C. REQUIREMENTS:

1. NYS License.

2. Minimum 2 years nursing experience.

3. Performs all job responsibilities in full compliance with all applicable laws, rules, regulations, policies and procedures. Adheres to the agency’s corporate compliance program, including the code of business conduct, the NYS and federal false claims acts, whistleblower protections and mandatory reporting. Completes corporate compliance training at least annually. Fully cooperates in all corporate compliance investigations and reviews.
