At FutureCare our Wound Care Nurse provide skin care to our residents with an emphasis on prevention and treatment of skin disorders.  They are part of our frontline health care team, and they play a pivotal role in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of skin care for our residents. Salary Disclosure Statement

The salary mentioned above reflects the potential base pay range for this role. Bonuses or other incentives (if applicable) are offered separately. Offers will consider such factors as overall experience, job-related qualifications, location, certifications/training, etc.

 

Responsibilities Identify, manage, and treat specific skin disordersOversee all direct wound care activities to ensure practices are consistentCoordinates weekly skin roundsPerform assessment evaluations using techniques including observation, and inspectionConfer with the Care Planning Team in the development of treatment for skin disorders within established wound care protocolMonitor the use of preventive measures such as inspection, turning and positioningAssist in modifying the treatment regimen to meet the needs of the resident, in accordance with established medical practices, the regulatory guidelines and the policies and goals of this facilityProvide information to resident and caregivers on prevention techniques and other ways to maintain or improve the general health and psychosocial status of the residentPrecept new nurses and demonstrate individual procedures to new nursing staffParticipate as requested in the planning and conducting of in-service training classes concerning dermatologic nursing skills and procedures used within the facilityParticipate in Performance Improvement program as assigned such as wound and nutrition committeeComplete and provide follow through on all incident reports as appropriateAbides by the standards identified in FutureCare’s Statement of Corporate Ethics and the Corporate Compliance Plan

 

Qualifications Must hold a current certification and LPN license in MarylandMust have an active certification in wound careAt least one-year experience in a skilled nursing facility preferredPrevious experience in skin care treatment a plusMust possess a positive and professional attitudeAbility to work independently and accurately to complete required documentationAbility to demonstrate positive and effective communication skills to facilitate positive interpersonal interactionAbility to remain calm and patient when dealing with residents Ability to problem solve and work well under pressureAbility to show empathy and compassion while interacting with residents to increase their comfort level
