Role summary:
To maintain the building's electrical installations at optimum performance levels so they remain in top condition and run as per our clients' requirements and expectations.
What you will deliver:
Inspect, repair and maintain all of the electrical installations necessary for the safe and efficient operation of the property by utilizing all areas of technical expertise within your licensed discipline in such a way as to provide tenants and customers with a secure and healthy environment. Limit the risks of losses due to power outages by ensuring that all safety rules are observed and that any hazards are reported to the people concerned on a timely basis. Conduct daily/weekly electrical inspections, making sure to check any equipment necessary to your own work, carrying out the minor adjustments and repairs and completing reports in order to ensure that the equipment is kept in good operating condition, thus avoiding major repairs due to negligence. Respond to emergency calls by being available on call to guarantee the efficient and continued operation of the property and to minimize any inconvenience caused to tenants and clients by power failures. Bring the preventive maintenance systems up to date by entering data mined from preventive maintenance logs. As warranted, help resolve problems related but not limited to electrical, mechanical and maintenance equipment, as well as the HVAC and mechanical systems, to guarantee a high level of service for customers, tenants and clients. Carry out various tasks involved in general building maintenance (e.g. painting, plastering, plumbing, servicing locks). Engage subcontractors for quoting purposes and oversee their work onsite. Play an active part in the energy use reduction project by contributing ideas and improvements to the equipment and procedures currently in place. Handle electrical service calls. Lend support to and/or take on added responsibilities within the department in order to maintain the team's overall efficiency.
What your strengths are:
High school diploma or the equivalent Electrical qualification certificate with a class-C licence Completed apprenticeship and at least 10 years' relevant experience In-depth knowledge of general maintenance procedures, current technology and electrical systems, as well as ability to read and understand blueprints Computer literacy Good verbal and written communication skills in French (English an asset) Interpersonal skills Good analytical skills Problem-solving and decision-making skills Organizational and prioritization skills Practical judgment Ability to work without supervision and take the initiative Positive attitude and willingness to respond to emergencies as required Team spirit Availability to work overtime
