We are looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our NEW Internal Medicine department in Byron Center!
Animal Emergency & Specialty Hospital in Byron Center, MI is a growing 24-hour Emergency & Specialty hospital offering a fast-paced work and rewarding environment.
Our new, state of the art, Emergency & Specialty hospital provides 10,000 square feet to allow for 24-hour Emergency & Critical Care to our community. Our hospital is located close to Tanger Outlet Mall. Byron Center is also home to unique independent stores, many comfort-food restaurants and abundant recreation opportunities. Byron Center is easily accessible from two major expressways and is just 15 minutes from downtown Grand Rapids.
The Internal Medicine Licensed Veterinary Technician provides patient care for a wide variety of illnesses and diseases under the direction of the Internist. This is a dynamic role that consists of Technician appointments, assisting the DVM with their appointments, assisting with procedures, running anesthesia and a high volume of client communications. This is an exciting opportunity for you to help start a new department in our established facility.
We are looking for candidates available to work (4) 10 hours shifts per week from 7:30AM- 5:30PM.

Key Areas of Responsibility:Facilities the department schedule: consults, rechecks, Technician appointments and procedures.Documents medical information in the hospital’s HMSPrepares exam and procedure rooms for each visit, anticipating needs of the DVM.Obtain patients current body weight, reason for visit and brief history. Obtain other vitals and lab work as needed.Perform and assist with all aspects of animal restraint for exams and procedures.Collects and processes all bloodwork, administers medications, and assists with procedures and endoscopy per the doctor’s orders.Prepare estimates and collect payment as needed.Answers a high volume of client phone calls and emails in real time. Before the end of each day, process all communications that are pending.Other duties as needed.
