THIS POSITION HAS NO DIRECT MANAGEMENT OR SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
POSITION SUMMARY
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
KEY FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
Responsible for complete operations of the extruder oven, former, trim press.
Must maintain good housekeeping, quality, and safety for themselves and others on the line.
Work sheet profile.
Grind up scrap.
Gap chrome rolls and set temperatures.
Set up oven profiles and adjust heats to maintain lid specs.
Set up all blenders.
Use lock-out/tag-out procedures.
Maintain quality of lids and extended sheet.
Responsible for all production paperwork.
Perform other duties assigned by plant manager, manager, supervisor, lead operator.
Roll changes on extruders.
Responsible for feed up and shut down of formers and trim press.
Awareness and knowledge of Control Point.
Experience operating a forklift.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
High school education or GED equivalent, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Exposure to manufacturing environment; loud noise; hearing protection required at times.
Regularly required to stand for long periods, use hands and fingers to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
reach with hands and arms.
Good hand and eye coordination are essential.
Occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Must regularly lift and / or move up to 50 pounds.
Regularly push or pull a pallet jack with 1000-pound load.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and normal color vision.
Occasionally exposed to fumes or dust.
Work near moving mechanical parts.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES
Read and write English; Ability to understand spreadsheets, charts and technical manuals; Good phone
skills required.
Read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Effectively present information in one-on-one and small groups situations.
Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
Deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
Add, subtract, multiply, and divide, in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions, and
decimals.
Convert units of measure.
