We're currently searching for Mobile LiDAR Data Technicians in our North Carolina or South Carolina offices. Ideally, individuals will be based out of Raleigh, but we can support individuals throughout the Southeastern region. The successful candidate will be part of a team conducting registration and extraction of LiDAR data using RiProcess, Microstation, TopoDOT, and other software. ResponsibilitiesPerform mobile LiDAR processingPerform mobile Mapping ExtractionDemonstrate teamwork and maintain open communication between the field, office, and clientFunction as team lead for project managers and other Laser Scan team members in LiDAR registration and extractionDevelop and maintain mobile LiDAR processing workflowsTrain technicians in mobile LiDAR processing and collection best practicesAssist in mobile LiDAR collection effortsCreate and review digital models and mapping of LiDAR and other types of traditional survey projectsProcess survey dataAssist with client interactions to help meet all scope of work requirementsAssist with proposal writing and mobile LiDAR estimatesObserve and comply with all company and related safety rulesFollow state-specific standards of practice to provide professional survey assistance that accounts for accurate survey data and determines conformance with applicable rules, standards, codes, boundaries, and construction specificationsAssist with writing surveying reports summarizing site inspection and survey findings and conclusionsGenerate complete, accurate, and concise documentation using photographs, sketches, calculations, software, spreadsheets, technical drawings, 2D/3D illustrations, and reportsWork collaboratively with other professionals, engineers, scientists, project control, and technicians on assigned survey tasksPerform LiDAR-related instruments calibrations to maintain their accuracyEngage in occasional contact with client personnel to schedule and coordinate project survey activitiesRemain current in the latest LiDAR knowledge, techniques, and practicesExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources, and conduct, and adhere to the company's Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresEssential Skills1-2 years of experience with Mobile LiDAR SurveysAbility to work independently, and as part of a diverse teamA working knowledge of geomatics, land surveying mathematics, land surveying practices, and proceduresExcellent communication skillsOverall knowledge of conducting field operationsExperience with TopoDot, TerraSolid software preferredExperience in Bentley software preferredExperience with Leica Software preferredExperience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and OutlookProven track record of upholding workplace safety and the ability to abide by health, safety, and drug/alcohol and harassment policiesAdditional Skills & QualificationsA.S. or B.S. degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related areasASPRS Certified Mapping Scientist LiDAR or ASPRS Certified LiDAR TechnologistWork Environment
