Seeking a high performing, self-motivated Life Safety Systems Sr. Technician to join and support our team at our corporate HQ in Durham, NC. In this role you will be reporting to the Critical Life Safety Systems Manager and work within the Facilities Operations and Maintenance group. The Life Safety Systems Sr Technician will be responsible for supporting the maintenance, repairs and operations of our continuous gas detection system
This role is on the first shift Monday-Friday 8:00AM - 4:00PM
The Day-to-Day:
Support all life safety gas detection inspections, testing, service, repairs and maintenanceEnsure the toxic gas monitoring (TGM) system is in compliance with all local and federal regulations and NFPA codesCoordination and support local LSS contractors for system upgrades, improvements and repairs as neededLead new tool and equipment gas detection equipment and monitoring install, relocations and demosDevelop and maintain TGM system network, troubles and alarm log with root causes and corrective actionsComplete maintenance, device repairs and service that include: sensor replacements, sensor calibration, device troubleshooting, network service, SCADA programming, PLC workSupport other life safety systems including fire alarm and fire protection equipmentThis Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent5 years’ experience as Life Safety technician required with detailed understanding of Gas Detection Equipment, PLCs, low voltage wiring, Fire Protection and Fire Alarm systemsProficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.)Knowledge of local and national codes that include: Life Safety 101, International Building Code, International Fire Code, NFPA 10, 13, 25, 72 and OSHAMust be able to push, pull, lift 25 lbs regularly, and up to 50 lbs when assistedMust be comfortable with heights, working on ladders or lifts or in confined spacesThis position requires the lawful ability to access technical data, information, and areas controlled by United States export control laws and regulations
