Job Description

Provides effective and efficient compliance with The Joint Commission standards and other local, state, and federal/national regulatory agencies.

A minimum of 2 years of experience in Life Safety programs in healthcare or other applicable industry

Understanding and knowledge of The Joint Commission standards and OSHA StandardsUnderstanding and knowledge of all applicable county, state, and federal regulations related to health, safety, and fire life safety managementCurrent and valid Georgia State driver’s licenseExcellent written and oral communication skillsEffective decision-making / problem solving skillsEffective computer skills and proficient in the use of MS Office

Job Responsibilities

Provides support to the Safety Manager in accordance with the safety management process and procedures.Ensures ongoing compliance with all Joint Commission environment of care standards and applicable Occupational Safety and Health Administration, National Fire Protection Association, Environmental Protection Agency, American National Standards Institute, and ASTM standards.Leads and assists with designated life safety procedures and training to ensure a safe facility.Provides backup for local, state, regional, and federal reporting requirements, as needed.Acts as a Children’s representative at local and state level regarding Children’s safety programs, as needed.Provides support and training for the Fire Extinguisher and Fire Drill campus programs.Provides support for construction risk assessments, under the direction of the Safety Manager.Acts in the capacity of a Safety Officer during times of emergency.
