JOB SUMMARY
Supervise activities and use of pool/whirlpool area to insure a clean, safe environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES (MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES)
Monitor and document water characteristics in the Aquatic Log as per New Jersey State Sanitary Code, Chapter IX, Public Recreational Bathing, N.J.A.C. 8:26-1 et seq. Assist in the development and implementation of swim programs.
MINIMUM EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High School diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
REQUIRED LICENSE, REGISTRY OR CERTIFICATION
Certified Lifeguard with current First Aid. CPR Certification required. WSI preferred. Certified Pool Operator (CPO) helpful.
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND/OR ABILITIES REQUIRED
Ability to direct and participate in the extrication of bodies from the water in an emergency. Familiar with use of a back board and other water safety devices. Ability to learn and understand water filtration systems for the pool and whirlpool. Ability to communicate with different age groups regarding water safety rules and/or instruction.
