Job Vacancy Announcement Position Information Position Title Lifeguard On-Call Position Type Staff Department Auxilliary Services and Event Management FLSA Non-Exempt Union/Non Union Full Time or Part Time Part Time Grade 4 Salary Range Hiring Salary Range $15.02 to $16.52/hourly Fixed Term/Tenure Track (Faculty Only) Regular or Temporary Temporary Job Description Summary Responsible for ensuring the safety of all patrons in the pool area and keeping the facility clean. Minimum Qualifications Current American Red Cross Lifeguard certificate. Criteria CRITERIA: The following criteria, which are not the sole criteria used in the final hiring decision, will be used to review the applications of those persons who meet the stated minimum qualifications and to select those qualified applicants who will be interviewed. Other information and observations made during the interview process may be considered in the selection process. Resume/CV and cover letter are required with the application. Watches over all swimmers and reacts accordingly. Enforces all rules and regulations of the College and Health Department. Checks deck equipment and puts away lesson equipment. Cleans bleachers, water fountains, and windowsills. Sweeps and buckets decks. Cleans pool gutters and skimmer baskets. Wipes down weight room equipment and pads. Participate in in-service training for staff as well as testing Lifeguard proficiency. Dust mops courts. Clean court walls and floors. Administers first aid when needed. Performs related work as required. Must be willing to set up and remove equipment for scheduled pool activities. Must be willing to perform required maintenance tasks as assigned by Natatorium management. Ensures a safe and clean environment for patrons. Responsible for setting up and taking down equipment, lane makers, and bulkhead for activities. Assures maximum safety of all Natatorium patrons. Informs Natatorium management of any needed repairs or needed supplies. Provides customer service as a representative of the College Maintains all required certifications and licenses. Job Requirements 1. Must be available to work Monday through Saturday between the hours of 8:30am and 8:30 p.m. Work schedule subject to change based on the needs of the department.
2. Ability to communicate effectively in spoken and written standard English.
3. As required by the 1986 Immigration Act, be prepared to present acceptable documentation showing your identity and that you are a U.S. citizen or an alien who is authorized to work.
4. A background investigation will be conducted prior to offer of employment. A signed authorization for release of personal information will be required if selected for an interview.
