Job Summary:
This position is a highly skilled person with experience operating and maintaining all types of equipment in their areas of responsibility. They must be knowledgeable in all relevant rules and regulations. Primary responsibility is to manage the staff, emphasizing proficiency, safety in the workplace, and leadership in all areas of lift maintenance. Assure that the Sr. Mt. Ops Manager is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions and occurrences.
Job Responsibilities:
Capable of maintaining a high level of emotional intelligence, setting aside external pressures to concentrate on the team and the tasks at hand, and handling common work issues in a professional manner. They do not make excuses or blame others when mistakes occur. Instead, they take responsibility for the problem and learn from the experience. Responsible for assuring the lifts comply with NHTSB, ANSI, FS, and Vail Resorts rules and regulations. Responsible for hiring, training, and developing all lift maintenance/electronics personnel. Responsible for summer and winter preventative maintenance programs, including inspection of work performed to maximize lift safety and reliability. Plan and organize the maintenance group activities to accomplish work thoroughly, orderly, and timely. Direct and control the maintenance of all tooling, equipment, and vehicles. Assure that the senior mountain Operations Manager is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, or system malfunctions. Assure that all records required by Vail Resorts and the authorities having jurisdiction are maintained and kept up-to-date. This includes but is not limited to, all mechanical and operational procedures and the daily maintenance, operational logs, lift failures, and incidents. Assist Sr. Mt. Ops Manager in tracking operating/capital expenses and allocating proper expenditures. Responsible for managing safe and reliable maintenance operations and providing the quality and reliable service desired by guests and Vail Resorts.
Job Requirements:
High School education or equivalent, some college or prof 5 years of experience in lift maintenance and operations or related field Must know and understand Lift Maintenance, Lift Operations, and management skillsDemonstrated management/supervisory experience in Lift Operations and/or Lift Maintenance and /or Mountain Operations
Valid Driver’s License
trong knowledge of desktop computer systems and applications, especially Microsoft platforms Other website platformsRead, Write, and speak English
Ability and willingness to learn Collaborative and ability to work well within a team and outside of your team Intermediate-level skier or rider preferred Know rules and regulations governing maintenance and ski operations (ANSI code)
The expected pay range is $59,100 - $79,530 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
