Job Summary:
The Manager of Lift Maintenance manages the preventative, routine, scheduled, and unscheduled maintenance of all lifts on Crested Butte Mountain in a proactive, safe, and efficient manner; providing oversight of lift construction and special projects as assigned by the Director of Lift Operations and Maintenance; providing the quality and service required by regulatory agencies, and maintaining the standards set forth by Vail Resorts. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical skills as it relates to lift maintenance as well as a high level of leadership skill to successfully lead experienced lift maintenance/electrical professionals, enabling the highest levels of execution and job satisfaction while working toward excellent team cohesion and effectiveness.

Job Responsibilities:
Provide reliability of all resort ski lift facilities to provide a quality service for our internal and external guests. Responsible for assuring lift equipment is in compliance with the Colorado Passenger Tramway Safety Board rules, ANSI, insurance, and Vail Resorts rules and regulations. Act as a liaison alongside the Director of Lift Operations and Maintenance to the CPTSB for meetings, lift licensing, inspections, and written reports on behalf of the resort. Manages all lift maintenance activity including conduct, training, lift department policy, Vail Resort policy, and ensures all required paperwork and procedures are completed in a thorough manner and logged into the system or kept on file locally. Responsible for the oversight and planning of all mechanical and electrical maintenance. Control summer and winter preventative maintenance programs to include all required inspections, processes and documentation. Plan for the future development and capital improvements of all lift systems. Continually update the Director of Lift Operations and Maintenance on the long-term goals for lift system upgrades. Oversee training and long-term development of all lift maintenance personnel. Assure that the Director of Lift Operations and Maintenance is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, or system malfunctions. Assure that all required records are maintained and kept up-to-date. This includes, but is not limited to, all mechanical, electrical and operational procedures, maintenance and operations logs, lift failures and incidents, and downtime logs. Other duties as assigned
Job Qualifications:
Required:
High school education or equivalent Minimum of six years of experience in lift maintenance and/or lift operations Minimum 4 years of supervisory experience with strong management skills. Valid Colorado Driver’s License Strong knowledge of desktop computers and applications – Microsoft office applications Strong English communication skills including verbal & written Demonstrated knowledge of lift operations & maintenance. Proven organization skills and knowledge of tramway board regulations.
Preferred:
Strong skiing ability Previous experience with regulatory agencies College degree
The expected pay range is $69,000 - $90,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
