Overall view of the role:
Conducting heavy lifting consultations, evaluate the requirements of lifting activities, review heavy lift engineering technical studies, review heavy lifting procedures, and participate in lifting incidents investigations.Accountabilities/Expectations:
Assess site lifting requirements.Provide consultations on the most suitable crane/equipment type.Perform technical reviews for lifting methodologies.Work closely with the contractors, construction supervisors, HSE supervisors and planners to develop quality job plans and schedules.Review Contractor’s lifting & Hoisting procedures and ensure they match the oilfield’s main guidelines and standards.Auditing contractor’s Rigging Lofts and advise about the best practice in managing themExperience and Qualifications required:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Mechanical/Civil) is highly preferred.
A minimum of 10 years of experience in specialized heavy lift field.Minimum 3 years of experience in Iraq.Ability to have excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.Appointed person certified by accredited organization (e.g. LEEA (Lifting Equipment Engineering Association), or equivalent).LEM/SMS/LOLER-style competence where applicable (Lifting Equipment and LRigging competency frameworks).BS7121Ability to demonstrate engineering technical capabilities in conducting heavy lifting assessment to identify all lifting requirements, including “but not limited to” site conditions, equipment selection,and crane configuration.Deep understanding of the international standards and regulations for cranes/heavy equipment operationLiterate in using a computer and Microsoft office application (Word, Excel, and Outlook).
