**Full Time** **8:00AM-4:00PM| Off Sunday & Monday** **$25.69 Hourly** **Weekly Earned Wage Access is an option for this position.** **Job Purpose or Objective(s):** As A Lighthorse Police Officer, you will enforce all Tribal, State and Federal laws and rules to provide protection for individuals and property. You will report to Tribal Law Enforcement Management. **Primary Tasks:** + You will conduct patrols of the assigned area(s). + Investigate and write reports of motor vehicle collisions and criminal offenses. + Prepare arrest cases and testify in court as a witness when called. + Locate and take persons into custody on warrants, transport prisoners. + You will escort funeral processes, parades, officials, and oversized vehicles. + Attend department meetings, training courses, and conferences. + Collaborate with other Police Departments to provide comprehensive services to the citizens of the Choctaw Nation. + Observe unsafe conditions on the street such as obstructions, debris, icy bridges, high water, damage to pavement, inadequate or damaged traffic control devices and take appropriate action to correct them. + Inform supervisor concerning matters of significance in their area(s) of patrol. + Perform other responsibilities as may be assigned. **Job Requirements:** + Must Complete of the Law Enforcement Academy + Pass a physical fitness test + Have a valid driver's license + Use law enforcement communication, law enforcement software, and equipment + Must qualify yearly with department firearms + Ability to reason logically and make sound decisions. + Ability to work effectively and efficiently in high stress and conflict situations. + Ability to exercise independent judgment and make logical decisions. + Work outside normal hours and exposed to the elements + No prior experience required About the Choctaw Nation The Choctaw Nation is the third-largest Indian nation in the United States, with over 200,000 tribal members and more than 11,000 employees.
