We achieve growth through the development of innovative new products and services, including lighting, lighting controls, building management solutions, and location-aware applications. **Job Summary** Acuity Brands, the largest lighting manufacturer in North America, is excited to announce an opening in its Direct Sales organization within the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) — one of our largest and most dynamic markets. We are seeking a results-driven and highly skilled **Direct Sales Representative** to manage the sales of our distinguished brands: **Holophane, American Electric Lighting, Cyclone Lighting** , and any associated **Acuity Brands** **controls offerings** . Working remotely and travelling in-territory on a daily basis, you will lead the sales efforts for this brand with a core focus on the infrastructure and heavy industrial markets. Owning the sales process from start to finish you will engage with specifiers, wholesalers and contractors. The ideal candidate will need to leverage technical skills combined with the ability to quote and negotiate projects. Your experience in **solution selling** and **demand creation** will be critical, as you will be expected to drive revenue growth and build lasting relationships across a variety of stakeholders. If you are passionate about the lighting industry and want to be part of a global leader, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity. **Key Tasks & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)** + Educate and specify for your products with designers, architects, and engineers. + Ensure standards approvals are in place with appropriate institutions and owners. + Quote and Close projects with owners, contractors, and distributors. + Follow up on projects to ensure you have the contract. + Negotiate prices with clients. + Do research to find the right products for the projects and applications. + Seek new clients. + Be curious and strive to understand your customers business. + Understand the pulse and market trend for the market. + Provide post-sales support to clients. + Support Trade shows locally for exhibit, assembly, and disassembly. + Coordinate with associates to provide feedback and seek support where needed. **Skills and Minimum Experience Required** + Requires 5-10 years of experience in technical sales. + Lighting and Controls industry experience an asset. + Must have a car and a valid driver's license. + College Diploma or bachelor's degree. + Can travel 100% in the GTA area. \#LI-MB1 We value diversity and are an equal opportunity employer.
