Production Operations at Televisa Univision is looking for a Lighting Assistant to join our team!

Responsibilities include lighting board playback, assisting the Lighting Director and Lighting Programmer with their needs such as hanging, focusing, and addressing fixtures and working closely with the production staff. The Lighting Assistant will report to the Lighting Director.

YOUR DAY-DAY: (aka Responsibilities)

Hang, power and focus light fixturesRaising faders on lighting boards for showsPosition floor lightsTroubleshoot problems such as loss of power or data

YOU HAVE: (aka Qualifications)

Associates Degree in Television Production or equivalent work experienceWorking knowledge of computers and Windows operating systemsBasic knowledge of lighting equipment such as lighting consoles and lighting fixtures including conventional, LED and intelligent lightingFamiliarity with proper safety procedures such as use of harnesses and other personal protective equipment; correct use of lifts and lifting techniquesKnowledge and understanding of computerized lighting consoles specifically ETC Ion and GrandMA 2Ability to climb a ladderMust be able to lift up to 50 poundsMust be able to perform work at heights above 30’Bi-lingual (English and Spanish)1-2 years of experience with live studio broadcastComfortable with all aspects of the productionPerform well under pressure and breaking news situationsExcellent organizational skills with acute attention to detailExcellent verbal and written communication skillsExcellent listening skillsAbility to multitask and prioritizeAbility to work effectively with others in a team environmentAs this position supports a 24x7 operation, candidate must, in addition to being able to work regular hours, have on-call availability, and flexibility to work days, nights, overnights, weekends, and holidays as needed and without advance notice.  Additionally, candidate may be required to work on site for extended periods of time to provide coverage in special circumstances, such as, during tropical storm/hurricane
