Responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, checking rail cars and trucks for foreign materials; loading trucks and rail cars with hydrated lime, quick lime, and by-products to legal weight; observe, monitor and report any conditions that could lead to
product nonconformity or other irregularity; participate in safety meetings and training sessions; inspect work areas for safety hazards before beginning work activity; climb onto the top of rail cars, trucks, and/or loading platforms; load rail cars and trucks to proper
weights; during loading, uses rail switches and helps loader operator to take rail cars from one track to another; take and record tank measurements for inventory purposes; rail car inspection and cleaning; and other duties as assigned by management.
General Work Conditions:
Most tasks performed outside or in areas which may not be climate controlled. Noise is constant or intermittent or a
pitch that may cause marked distraction, bodily fatigue and may require hearing protection. Most tasks performed
outside exposed to ambient weather
conditions. Dusty conditions are possible. Work is repetitive and continuous. Work is according to a routine and
standards of performance.
•Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 75 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or
move up to 100 pounds
•Possess normal vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception
and the ability to adjust focus.
•Frequently exposed to:
1. Moving mechanical parts
2. High, precarious places
3. Caustic chemicals
4. Wet and or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, petroleum products, toxic or caustic chemicals,
petroleum products, extreme cold, extreme heat, risk of electrical shock, risk of radiation, and vibration
5. Noise levels from moderate to loud.
Starting Pay Rate: $27.70 per hour
