Limited Assignment Radiation Therapist

As a Radiation Therapist, you support patients going through their cancer journey. Responsible for accurate, complete and timely implementation and execution of a planned course of radiation treatment, your guidance through the process fosters every patient's comfort and well-being participating in the simulation and treatment of complex therapy fields to achieve optimal treatment plans.

Your Everyday 

Administer proper and responsible radiation to patients for radiation therapy.  

Monitor the patient’s condition regularly while under treatment to look for abnormalities. 

Assists the radiation oncologist in the localization of tumors. 

Perform simulations and treatment as ordered. 

Perform simple dose calculations on patients as requested by radiation oncologist.  

Record all treatments on patient chart as administered. 

Perform daily warmup on equipment, documents and notify physicist of any equipment out of tolerance and deemed faulty. 

Verifies proper stock of equipment and supplies in treatment rooms in order to avoid treatment delays.  

Maintain cleanliness of patient care areas. 

Complete and accurately document safety inspection of equipment and room according to procedure as assigned and notifies appropriate person of any variance. 

 
The Must-Haves 
 
Minimum:  
 

Bachelor’s degree.  

Radiologic Technologist license by the Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners. (LSRT). 

Radiography Certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT).  

American Heart Association BLS certification. 

1 year of experience with radiation therapy equipment including Varian, GE, TOMO. 

Preferred: 

Experience on CT, linear accelerator.
