Hiring a LIMS (laboratory information management system) Specialist for our West Lafayette office.
ResponsibilitiesCorporate
· Enter data into databases
· Follow SOPs and other applicable laboratory or company procedures
· Maintain confidential information
General
· Interact with the community and employees
· Support and participate in other company initiatives as directed by senior management
· Perform other duties as assigned
Specific
· Responsible for initiation, programming study design, and receiving samples electronically in to Watson (LIMS) system.
· Oversees sample tracking in Watson.
· Responsible for interfacing Watson with sample receipt process, which may include sample check-in duties.
· Responsible for functions associated with the sample handling module within Watson
· Responsible for helping receive, process, and maintain samples.
· Maintains accurate inventory records for current projects.
· Documents receipt/deliver of samples according to cGMP, cGLP, cGCP, etc.
QualificationsEducation and experience
· B.S. in Biology, a B.S. in a related field with 1-2 years of inventory control experience preferred
· Equivalent combination of related education and required work experience will be considered with management approval.
Skills and abilities
· Good organizational skills.
· Displays versatility and accuracy performing laboratory operations, some of which may be difficult and/or non-routine.
· Ability to use a computer to compile and maintain databases for records and inventory, utilizing the appropriate software.
· An attitude for quality, an eye for detail, the ability to follow written instructions and work with a minimum of supervision.
· Understanding of GMP/GLP/GCP regulations with the ability to apply these practices daily.
· A working knowledge and awareness of general laboratory procedures.
· Ability to use personal computer and various software programs.
· Ability to work independently.
· Good written and oral communication skills.
· Ability to adhere to all safety regulations and procedures.
*This position could be offered at different levels for candidates who qualify with a combination of advanced levels of education and/or years of experience. The salary range will adjust along with the level of the role to match the person’s relevant experience and/or education level.
