**Amentum** is seeking a **Line Cook** located in the Williamsburg area of Virginia. The Line cook ensures the consistent and steady completion of meals that meet or exceed expectations. **Job Requirements:** + Ability to read recipes + Create meals due to food allergies or special needs + Responsible for that station's workflow and getting meals out on time + Oversee the cooking process from start to finish and determine how much time each step requires + Maintain Sanitation Standards + Ensuring the preparation station and the kitchen are set up and stocked. + Preparing simple components of each dish on the menu by chopping vegetables, cutting meat, and preparing sauces. + Cooking menu items with the support of the kitchen staff. + Reporting to the executive chef and following instructions. + Making sure food preparation and storage areas meet health and safety standards. + Cleaning prep areas and taking care of leftovers. + Stocking inventory and supplies. **Minimum Requirements:** + High school degree or equivalent + US or Naturalized Citizen + Valid Drivers License + 2+ years' experience as a Cook in the restaurant industry or in a similar role + Able to read and follow standardized recipes + Strong knowledge of proper food handling procedures + Able to work as part of a team in a busy kitchen atmosphere + Must be able to work cooperatively and efficiently in a team + ServeSafe Certification preferred or culinary arts certification or related field + Able to work early mornings, nights, and weekends + Able to bend, move, and lift up to 25 pounds or more + Physically able to stand and move during the length of shift + In-depth knowledge of restaurant best practices and cooking methods + Excellent communication and organizational skills + Aptitude for multi-tasking + Ability to obtain and maintain government issued clearance Amentum is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer.
