To help keep up with this growth we are looking for an outstanding Line Cook to be a part of our in-house restaurant Food Service team.

Overview

Melaleuca's in-house restaurant serves a wide ranging menu that is a great benefit to our employees. The Line Cook prepares and cooks various food items. If you are looking for a great job with career potential that also has a good work schedule, this is it.

Responsibilities

Consistently prepares and cooks breakfast and lunch menu items to orderPerforms tasks such as grilling, broiling, sauteing and frying as requiredAssists with preparing items for grab and go's, salad bar (i.e., wash and cut up vegetables, slice meats, eggs, house-made dressings, etc.)Assists with planning, preparing and executing catering opportunities that may include working some evenings, weekends and holidaysGets ingredients ready for next day’s entreesAssists with closing duties (i.e., putting food away, emptying the garbage and general cleaning)Cleans and services kitchen equipment (i.e., fryer, 6burner, broiler, change filters, ovens, meat slicer etc.)Assists in training other food service assistants as needed by demonstrating tasks, answering questions, etc.Monitors food quality by following recipes with accuracy. First-in First-out food safety practices and measures proper food portioning with a scalePractices safe food handling and maintains cleanliness of work stationInspects quality of own workEnsures that all product delivered to our guests meets the expectations of Melaleuca and the Executive ChefPerforms other duties as assigned or needed

Qualifications

Previous Line Cook experience is preferredAbility to work independentlyCustomer service skillsAbility to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.Ability to work under stressVisually read recipes, orders, product labels, etc.Ability to read, write, and perform math skillsAbility to perform the essential duties with efficiency and accuracyWritten and verbal communication skills
