Line Operator - Proliant Health & Biologicals Lexington, NE

Starting pay is $24.00/hr, with a $2.00/hr shift premium for the night shift. We're hiring for both A shift (6:15 am - 3:00 pm) and B shift (3:30 pm - 12:00 am).

The purpose of this job is to assist in the efficient collection of bovine plasma in compliance with FDA, USDA, and OSHA regulations.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:                   High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Experience:                 Stable working history preferred.

Candidates must pass pre-employment drug screen and fit for duty exam.

JOB DUTIES:

Operate production equipment under the supervision of the Operations Supervisor and/or Shift Lead:

Prepare collection container utilizing plastic liner, ensuring proper placement to eliminate contamination hazards entering the raw material container.

Responsible for proper placement of collection container within the hide of the animal.

Manually handles the animal hide to ensure proper placement in order for safe use of the hydraulic line manipulator.

Safely operates line equipment including hydraulic line manipulator to remove collection container from hide for placement onto conveyor line.

Removes plastic liner from collection container and ensures proper disposal.

Notify Proliant management team of any major safety or equipment issues in a timely manner.

Responsible for timely attendance in accordance with shift schedule.

Adhere to GMP standard operating procedures and comply with all basic FDA, USDA and other regulatory requirements related to the collection of raw materials.

Maintain cooperative working relationships and communications with employees from all other departments and peers.

Maintain a safe, clean, organized work area.

Maintain general housekeeping of operations areas.

Ability to handle materials in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.

Ability to learn to handle edible and inedible protein materials in accordance with established sanitary procedures and practices.

Ability to understand and follow established work procedures including mandated sanitary and safety guidelines.

Ability to learn and safely operate various types of equipment/machinery required in job duties.

Ability to troubleshoot malfunctions and situations as they arise, notifying appropriate staff of problems beyond scope of normality

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES AND REQUIREMENTS:

Production Line Operators are required to follow all safety policies and procedures.  Job duties include maintaining good housekeeping throughout the facility, using required personal protective equipment and recognizing the hazards of the job and taking precautions to assure safety to themselves and others.  Responsibilities include always applying safe work practices, informing their supervisor of hazards and recommending how to eliminate them, preventing injury to themselves and to others and actively participating and cooperating in the overall safety program.

WORKING CONDITIONS AND EXPOSURES:

There will be exposure to many different chemicals used during processing and clean up, high noise levels, moving machinery/equipment, moving throughout the building to different processing areas, some exposure to splashing liquids and dust, exposure to heat, and prolonged standing on concrete floors.
