The incumbents will have responsibility for all employees directly and indirectly involved in the operations of train yards, in passenger service or in the protection and support of internal and external contractors. All positions respond to emergencies and major service disruptions. Education and Experience A high school diploma and five (5) years of mass transit experience, of which four (4) years must have been in a supervisory or managerial level, OR Desired Skills: A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience. + Knowledge of rail rapid transit procedures, including emergency and safety procedures. + Knowledge of MTA NYCT rules and regulations. + Knowledge of rolling stock, work equipment, information and signal systems. + Management of operational and administrative program of considerable scope given tight deadlines and adverse conditions. + The ability to make sound decisions in emergency situations, motivate staff and resolve conflicts. + Excellent oral and written communication skills. + In addition, for subdivision C positions: knowledge of flagging/work train operations, General Order procedures and experience in planning short term and long term resource allocation.
