THE JOB:
It is the primary responsibility of the Linen and Supplies Manager to assist with daily hotel supply operations needed to ensure that the campus Housekeeping and Environmental Services departments have all necessary supplies and equipment. All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and property policies, practices, and procedures.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
Optimizes supply levels based on usage trends to ensure adequate inventory while minimizing costs.Assists in maintaining warehouse inventory (e.g., MMS updates, supply requisitions) and ensures daily supply needs are met.Secures operating supplies, limiting access to designated personnel. Tracks all supplies stored or removed from the Housekeeping and Environmental Services warehouse, requiring director approval for special supply requests outside standard use.Develops and communicates procedures related to purchasing, supply requisitions, and documentation for Housekeeping and Environmental Services staff.Monitors and reviews monthly supply expenses for Housekeeping and Environmental Services, ensuring alignment with budgets by analyzing financial statements, warehouse issues/transfers, and Profit & Loss reports.Analyzes supply usage trends to develop financial projections, guiding purchasing decisions and determining annual operating supply budget needs.Manages blanket order requisitions, reviewing their status and submitting requests for future supply production.Identifies and resolves product issues, including defects, by working with vendors and Purchasing to obtain replacements or refunds.Oversees the liquidation process for damaged or obsolete products in collaboration with Purchasing, maintaining records of all liquidated items.Conducts weekly spot checks of supply lockers and linen storage areas to ensure proper stocking levels.Communicates back-ordered items to Housekeeping, Environmental Services, and the Director of Housekeeping to coordinate interim solutions.Leads training initiatives, tracking employee progress on equipment use, relevant systems, onboarding, safety protocols, OSHA standards, and required certifications.Researches and evaluates new products, working closely with Purchasing to ensure adherence to company procurement policies.Collaborates with the MGM Resorts International Design Center to establish specifications for new Housekeeping and Environmental Services products.Maintains vendor and contractor relationships, ensuring the best pricing, quality, and compliance with property standards and contractual agreements.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.2+ Years of Prior Relevant Experience working with inventory and supplies, preferably in a warehouse setting with supervisory responsibilities.Previous experience in a hotel/resort housekeeping environment.Previous experience in warehouse management.Bilingual, with English as primary or secondary language.
