Job Description
As a Linen Technician, you will be responsible for handling and transporting soiled linens from patient rooms throughout the hospital. This is a physically demanding role that requires long-distance walking and the ability to push heavy carts. If you have experience in linen technology, stocking, or loading/unloading, you will excel in this position.
ResponsibilitiesPush carts of soiled linens from patient rooms throughout the hospital.Handle dirty/soiled linens comfortably.Walk 3-4 miles daily around the hospital while pushing carts.Utilize basic math counting skills and RF scanning experience.Essential SkillsExperience with janitorial, cleaning, and environmental services.Knowledge of sorting and custodial duties.Unloading and RF Scanner experience.Customer service orientation.Ability to perform cycle counts.Additional Skills & QualificationsPhysically capable of pushing a cart weighing up to 100 pounds.Ability to walk 15,000-20,000 steps per shift.Preferred RF Scanner experience.Understanding of pick/order sheets.Why Work Here?
We offer a competitive benefits package, including 80% coverage of medical, dental, and vision insurance. Full-time employees are eligible for benefits the first day following their first full month of work. You will accrue 4 hours of PTO per week, totaling 208 hours per year, with the ability to roll over unused hours. Holiday pay is double time for scheduled holidays. Long-term and short-term disability coverage is provided. After six months of employment, you are eligible to apply for other positions within the hospital.
Work Environment
You will work in a climate-controlled environment at the hospital. The available shifts are 6:00 AM - 2:00 PM (1st shift) and 12:30 PM - 9:00 PM (2nd shift), with work required every third weekend. The dress code includes khakis and a blue-collared shirt. No facial jewelry, long nails, perfume, or lotion are allowed, as frequent sanitization is required. Clothing must not have vulgar, profane, or offensive writing or graphics. Closed-toed shoes are mandatory, and tennis shoes are acceptable.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $16.00 - $16.00
