This position provides Linux and AIX server administration and support for enterprise-level services in the hosted environment. This environment hosts hundreds of physical and virtual servers and supports functions and business-critical services for executive branch agencies.
Responsibilities include
• Configuration, installation and maintenance of enterprise Linux/AIX physical and virtual servers
• Configuration, installation, and maintenance of enterprise VMware-based virtual environment
• Recommend and implement system tuning, security and configuration changes
• perl & shell scripting, create new scripts, and modify existing scripts to automate processes
• Coordinate and perform installations, upgrades, migrations
• Adhere to defined incident/change management process
• Regular communication with other technical teams and business owners
• Work with customers to develop testing and implementation schedules as needed
• Maintain technical documentation to reflect changes to the environment
