What Will You Be Doing?

This position is responsible for all aspects of the development, architecture, and governance of the Linux and Unix Server solutions within the customer environment. Working with the Architecture and Engineering teams and Government sponsors to develop and implement new services and integrated solutions in the customer owned Linux/Unix and Automation environment. Day-to-day system data validation, workflow improvements, and efficiency improvements will be a key success for this position. Presenting to senior leadership around concepts, ideas, and new solutions involving automation is required.

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

· Manage and maintain RHEL systems, focusing on system health, performance, security, and compliance. Responsibilities include kernel tuning, patching, and upgrades.

· Ensure all systems adhere to DoD 8570.1 standards, maintaining IAT Level II or III certifications as necessary, and implementing security measures to meet DoD STIGs.

· Apply CI/CD principles to automate the development and deployment of engineering service reports, enhancing the efficiency and reliability of system updates and configurations.

· Utilize Ansible for automation tasks, including the configuration management, application deployment, and system provisioning across RHEL environments.

· Experience with container technologies like Podman or Kubernetes is highly desirable. Manage containerized applications, ensuring they run efficiently and securely in a Linux environment.

· Diagnose and resolve complex system issues, providing high-level support to minimize downtime and maintain system integrity.

· Maintain detailed documentation on system configurations, security measures, and compliance procedures. Produce regular engineering service reports reflecting system status and compliance.

· Lead or significantly contribute to projects involving system migrations, new deployments, or upgrades, ensuring strategic alignment and operational efficiency.
