Description Robert Half is currently seeking an experienced Linux Systems Administrator for our client in Madison, WI. The Linux Systems Administrator will be responsible for the strategic planning, management, and execution of critical technical systems, across multiple US locations. This is a Permanent Hire role that will require a hybrid work schedule in Madison, WI. Responsibilities: + Install, configure, and maintain Linux operating systems, servers, and applications + Monitor system performance to ensure high availability of resources + Coordinate and conduct system upgrades, patching, and backup processes + Troubleshoot system issues and provide tier two support + Collaborate closely with teams on security system monitoring and incident response + Perform routine system audits and generate reports + Document systems configurations and operational procedures + Conduct capacity and resources planning for system growth and scalability Requirements Requirements: + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience + Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Linux Systems Administrator + Advanced knowledge of Linux distributions such as Ubuntu, Debian, RedHat, or CentOS + Familiarity with scripting (Python, shell, Perl) and automation tools + Working knowledge of networking protocols and components (TCP/IP, DNS, NFS, LDAP) + Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills + Excellent communication skills + Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment Preferred: + Any experience with Docker administration for application deployment. + Experience with Nutanix is highly preferred, but other virtualization solutions are acceptable.
