Job Description:

Our Aberdeen Proving Ground (APG), Maryland team is looking for an amazingly talented  Linux System Administrator to join our team! The Candidate will maintain smooth operation of multi-user Linux computer systems (clusters), including coordination with network engineers. Monitor and manage system resources, including CPU usage, disk usage, and response times to maintain operating efficiency. Perform systems security administration functions, including creating user profiles and accounts. Other duties may include setting up administrator accounts, maintaining system documentation, tuning system performance, installing system wide software and allocating mass storage space. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.

What You'll Be Doing:

Perform administration tasks (user/group, installing and upgrading the software, security permissions, group policies); research event-log warnings and errors; and monitor resources to ensure that systems architecture components work together seamlessly.Perform routine and scheduled audits of all systems, including backups.Assists with the creation of custom user environments usageMaintain system versions and patches to conform with DoD IA requirementsPerform software integration testing and troubleshooting

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or closely related fieldUp to five (5) years of directly related experience with clustered Linux systems, e.g., Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS Linux.Experience with high performance computing and clusteredPrefer experience with InfiniBand and NVIDIA as wellAbility to write shell scripts and experience with DOD STIGs a plusExperience working with, managing and maintaining virtual environments a plusExperience working with Kubernetes clusters a plus

US citizenshipDepartment of Defense TOP SECRET security clearanceSecurity+ and Linux+ certifications (or their equivalents as determined by our DoD customer)

Salary Range: 

$83,300.00 - $145,800.00
