Edgewater Federal Solutions is seeking a Linux Systems Architect II to support the IT program at a major national laboratory.

Responsibilities Responsible for Architecting our Linux Server environment. The lab primarily runs RedHat and utilizes Ansible for automating tasks. Define systems requirements based on user/client needs, cost, and required integration with existing applications, systems, or platforms. Qualifications BA/BS in Computer Science or other IT related field and 10 Years of relevant work experienceIn lieu of a degree, additional relevant experience may be applicableU.S. Citizenship is required per contract to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy Q clearanceExperience in scripting and comfortable with Python.

Linux Server System Administration & UNIX experience at least 1-3 years

Familiarity with network protocols and network management technologies

Excellent customer service and communication skills with customers and vendors

Experience with Automation platforms such as Ansible, VMware, Python at least 1-3 years

Ability to work well in a collaborative team environment

Desired:

Experience with containerization would be a huge plus. 

Windows system administration experience at least 1-3 years

Experience leading and implementing large technical solutions

RHCE/CCNA

Experience in Bash, PowerShell, or other scripting language for automating SysAdmin tasks or troubleshooting existing processes

Experience with container technology, such as Kubernetes, RKE, Docker, etc.

Virtualization, servers, storage, and networking equipment experience

ESXI experience

Experience working on and designing ground system architectures on US Govt Programs
