Liquidity Risk Manager, Vice President, Hybrid (m/f/d)

Who we are looking for

Global Treasury Risk Management (GTRM), a team within State Street’s Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) department, is looking for an experienced treasury risk professional. The primary focus for the position will be the independent risk oversight and assessment of liquidity risk within State Street European subsidiary, State Street Bank International. 

This role can be performed in a hybrid model, where you can balance work from home and office to match your needs and role requirements.

GTRM acts as the business-aligned risk function focused on risk oversight, support, and coordination to ensure consistent identification, measurement and management of risks in the scope of the activities of the Global Treasury (GT) department. GT core functions include managing liquidity risk, the investment portfolio, asset-liability risk, funding and liability pricing, capital structure, and rating agency relationships.

What you will be responsible for

As Liquidity Risk Manager, VP within GTRM, you will drive the continued enhancement of the Liquidity Risk and Treasury Risk governance framework including policies and standards, internal and contingency funding plans and liquidity stress testing, ensuring compliance with national, European and US liquidity regulations and industry best practices. You will help us build resilience and execute day to day deliverables at our best.

Lead and organize key internal liquidity assessments including the preparation of the ILAAP for State Street Bank International GmbHContinuously develop/enhance internal and external enterprise-wide stress testing (ECB Stress test and SREP) from a Second Line of Defense perspective, including methodology design, modeling and analysis related to treasury risks and suitability for State Street Bank International GmbHEnsure appropriate monitoring and reporting of existing key risks and communicate relevant risk information to senior management including the Chief Risk Officer, Head of GTRM, and the TreasurerManage the calibration of liquidity risk limits and the independent review of the liquidity risk management frameworkContinuously develop/enhance the assessment, monitoring and reporting of liquidity risks including underlying quantitative models applied, and compliance with liquidity and data governance requirementsActively support special projects, including review and analysis to support key strategic Global Treasury business initiatives/new products (e.g., issuance of new liabilities, investment in new asset types or in new geographies)Collaborate with GTRM colleagues globally and business leaders across the bank to incorporate the risk view in investment strategies and balance sheet allocation decisionsActively participate in regulatory exams and represent second line of defense in regular meetings with regulators, developing a relationship of mutual trust and confidence and be a central point of contact to track, manage, and respond to both internal and external regulatory inquiriesHave experience in preparing presentations for executive management and regulatorsLead and coordinate the Second line of defense around the enhancement of the bank’s intraday liquidity risk framework

Education & Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in economics, finance, or other related field is required. Master’s degree with quantitative background or other advanced qualifications such as FRM or CFA is a plusAt least 10 years of experience within banking, consulting, or similar financial fields, ideally in Liquidity Risk or Asset Liability Management (ALM) related rolesKnowledge in Liquidity Risk related regulatory reporting requirements within the EU or other regulatory regimesExperience with ILAAP and stress testingFluency in English is required. Good knowledge of German is a plusProficiency in Excel and other MS applications and strong financial modelling skills
