About the Position:

As the Liquor Manager, you will lead a team dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences through the selection and sale of our beer, wine, spirits, and other offerings. You will ensure the department operates efficiently, maintains compliance with all relevant regulations, and meets sales goals. This is a fast-paced role that demands a high level of attention to detail, organizational skills, and a passion for excellence.

What You'll Do:
Greet guests and assist them with product selections in a friendly, professional manner. Manage inventory levels, product displays, and pricing integrity to ensure a visually appealing and well-stocked department that aligns with The Fresh Market’s standards.Responsible for ordering, inventory control and optimizing costs (buy low sell high), increasing sales and margins and maximizing overall profitability.  This includes sales representatives to taste the staff at store level, following tasting guidelinesMaintain adherence to all state, local, and federal laws regarding the sale of alcoholic beverages, and ensure the safety of both team members and guests.Develop and execute local marketing strategies and in-store promotions to drive department sales and guest engagement. Plan and execute sampling events.Ensure all team members are knowledgeable about product offerings and selling techniques, and understand compliance regulations.  Identify opportunities for training, development and performance improvement.Operate the register, assist with stocking shelves, and perform other tasks as necessary to support department success.

Availability:

To meet the needs of our stores, guests and teams, this position requires the willingness to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, days, evenings and holiday work.

Qualifications:

At a minimum, what you’ll need:

3+ years of management experience in retail, food and beverage, or a similar industry.Experience in inventory management, merchandising, and compliance.Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.Must be at least 21 years of age.

Certifications:

Must obtain and maintain any relevant certifications related to the sale of alcohol within 90 days of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification or training in alcohol sales and service.Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations regarding the sale of alcohol.Experience in a new store opening or launch environment.

Physical and Work Conditions

Repetitive hand/arm movements, grasping, bending, reaching, ability to lift, push or pull up to 50 pounds by oneself, exposure to extreme temperaturesAbility to use tools equipment: knives, ladders, stepstools, box cutters, pallet jacks, and other equipmentRequired to spend long periods of time on feet and stand or walk without a break (for up to 4 hours or as required by law)Required to wear approved hat, hair net, and/or beard guard, and personal protective equipment
