JOB DESCRIPTION:
To provide intermediate analysis and documentation of existing hospital and administrative procedures and recommend alternative procedures for improvement of workflow, either manual or automated, maximizing productivity and controlling costs.
This position supports Clinical Laboratory Services.
Job Duties
Laboratory Information Systems Analyst will have sufficient knowledge of existing computer systems to effectively troubleshoot system problems and\or develop high level LIS computer systems. The job requires significant self- motivation, strong work ethic, and ability to effectively work as part of a highly functioning team. The LIS Systems Analyst will report directly to the LIS Manager. Plans the study of current departmental systems. Gathers and organizes information on system including present operating procedures. Analyzes data and considers all available solutions, either manual or automated. Work with Big data Analytics Experience updating and maintaining websites Adheres to internal controls established for department. Performs related duties as required.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in related field 3 years related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a Microbiology, Blood Bank, Chemistry or Hematology lab section Strong customer service, interpersonal and communication skills Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Experience updating and maintaining websites Experience running reportsWORK SCHEDULE:
Hybrid, onsite as needed. This position supports the UTRGV project, occasional travel may be required.
