Sr. Developer with 5 to 8 years of hands-on experience

Position Overview:
CGI is seeking a skilled Clojure or Common LISP Developer to design, implement, and maintain robust applications using functional programming principles. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of Clojure or Common LISP, its ecosystem, and modern software development practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, and deploy high-performance applications using Clojure/Common LISP.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Maintain and improve existing Clojure/Common LISP codebases.
• Optimize applications for performance, scalability, and maintainability.
• Integrate Clojure/Common LISP applications with databases, APIs, and third-party tools.
• Write clear, concise, and maintainable code following functional programming best practices.
• Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality and adherence to standards.


Skills & Qualifications

• Proficiency in Clojure/Common LISP and its standard libraries.
• Understanding of functional programming concepts, immutability, and concurrency.
• Experience with the JVM ecosystem and tools like Leiningen.
• Familiarity with web frameworks (e.g., Ring, Compojure, Pedestal).
• Knowledge of databases (SQL/NoSQL) and ORMs like Datomic.
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git).
• Problem-solving skills and an ability to work in a collaborative environment.


Preferred Skills

• Experience with ClojureScript for front-end development.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Exposure to cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

Exposure to SMS Gateway like LinkMobility, AWS SNS, SMSAPI

• Proven experience of delivering process efficiencies and improvements
• Clear and fluent English (both verbal and written)
• Ability to build and maintain efficient working relationships with remote teams
